Emarketer Survey Reports that gender, even more than race or ethnicity, is a distinguishing factor of Internet use, informing online behavior and attitudes.

“US men are in the minority online. Currently, 96 million males are Internet users, compared with 103 million females. But men visit more sites and stay longer than females.  They are search engine users and participate in all forms of social media, particularly videos. In addition, they are more mobile—avid users of laptops, wireless broadband connections and mobile phones. “

Now I might need to get an iPhone

Skype finally came out with their version for the iPhone, I have not downloaded it yet, but I need to that through the Application Store, the bst thing is that is is free, hope it works. This is great news for the user, but I am wondering what o2 will be saying in  the UK as they have the rights to sell the phone in the UK and are making their money out of the tariff, will they be loosing out? Know they are fighting Play.com on the SIM free phones Play is selling.

Google makes minor changes

Google has been tweaking their result pages, nothing much but still something that affects search results. One has to do with the text that comes with you search results and in this case Google is trying to show the true connection between the search results and the search phrase that you are using. The snippets are said to show more information in relation to your search term.

This is great when you are using more than three word search phrases. The main change has to do with the algorithm it self. According to Google the results should be more relevant to the search string you provide. How exaclly I am not sure.

Why it is important not just to open a PPC campaign

We recently worked for a client that wanted us to do a PPC campaign at Google for 3000 pounds, thee campaigns with several ad groups and run it for three or four weeks . Using user-friendly URLs for your web site

Often overlooked but important is the role of URLs, so going from yoursite.com/?pageid=123&sub12 to yoursite.com/our_services/ not only helps the user verbally say the URL but also the search engines to connect it to something meaningful.

This is even more important when you have product or service pages so going from a URL that looks like yourhotelsite.com/?hotelID123&city123 to yourhotelsite.com/reykjavik/hotel_plaza/ is not only better to communicate but also helps the search engines to connect the URL to search terms in this case Reykjavik and Hotel Plaza.
