I hesitate to use even upgraded versions of Chrome, since my last experience using it (first version) left my computer compromised; have they fixed the security issues beyond all doubt?

With regard to the Google results in China – they have had a lot of difficulties in the Chinese market, and although the government cannot force them to put anything on their page, but they can and do tell them what not to put.
Not only in China – but also in Australia with the new list of websites it is banned to link to. Mostly child pornography, but also, rather worryingly, now the free speech advocacy group that originally complained about the law in the first place.
60-70% of SEO moz time with initial client interactions is in making the sites search spider friendly. Making the base strong.
Next is to add the icing on the cake and general maintenance. The foundations are fundamental. And maintaining that accessibility and keeping it in mind at all time. Also avoid duplicate content.
It’s a process of removing bottlenecks and improving traffic flow. Websites are like a road network.

Do you think that the internet will become a true replacement for traditional TV and Radio as both TV and Radio internet presence becomes more prominent. Seems to me a lot of individuals are forgoing standard TV to stream online where they can watch what they want when they want. Same for radio.

Great to read your posts on the RIMC event, sorry that I could not come but it’s on my radar of events to see.

Completely agree with you … actually I have been stressed on a number of issues over the past few weeks and just “sat back” and watched people, observed behaviors and I see so many nose dive on a new or trendy technology just to look good and follow the crowd – then as soon as someone “famous” doubts the usefulness, off we go on a wild goose chase seeking the newest and most trendy web 5.0 widget
What many fail to understand in my view is a very simple aspect of technology – it must be enabling and allow the users to deliver added value: many use it as a loud speaker.

Great tips! I’m going to start putting a few of these into action NOW!!!
Cheers!

I agree totally. I look at these things as I would look at the old “CQ, CQ, CQ” of HAM radio in the past. (I am lisenced ham) If it could be like the old invitation to the masses to converse, it would be great. Unfortunately we all know what would happen, (in other words what would be trashed).

Absolutely right! Creating user friendly Urls is one of the most important things which we must consider while developing a website.
As far as the CMS is concerned, most of them do no produce user friendly urls. This is one of the major drawback of most of them.
But the good news is that few CMS has overcome this problem.

Great post at Search Cowboy’s I have always wodered about this. it’s strange how often companies forget the Internet. But I think it’s changing.
#15 by Odette Relation - July 3rd, 2009 at 11:01
I’m not sure that not using the internet should be called “a problem”, but more of a lack of perspective, or bad PR strategy / management.
#16 by Optimize Your Web - July 3rd, 2009 at 21:31
so a bad PR strategy or management is not a problem? What they are dealing with is a well known problem with larger organizations were as I said the “look don’t touch” strategy is in place. This was the case for Dell and I have seen this here in Iceland with the credit crunch.

Hello thanks for the great tips, I am just getting into optimization and trying to get my head around the whole feild. What are typical ‘SPAM’ traits? Are there any visual Spam traits, in that I mean should you avoid making your website look a certain way? Thanks, any tips on what else I could read?

Glad to see your post, and I have received the warning recently. Does it mean I cannot use the complicated URL format any more? As you know the web pages about search have such kind of URLs normally. Or we just tell the robot not to crawl these part of content. Any suggestions plz?
#28 by Robert My Brands - October 20th, 2009 at 12:42
so, but actually bing works the same way google does, right? nothing really new except the thing with the text-quality. lets see, how famous bing will become – i am sceptical as usual ;)

You know, this is really the thing I love about Google, it gives internet marketers and business owners to have a fair game. By devising ways to avoid bots to get a hold of controlling their ranking, Google made it possible even for the smallest entrepreneurs to get a shot to be on top of the results if they are driven and popular enough.
Thanks for sharing this! :)

Hey there,
that is pretty impressive that yahoo is offering the better web analytics tool rather then Google does. I just thought Google is the leader in alomost everything!
I think my company will use the YWA in future, better dashboard and better presentation.
Thanks for the slides ;
Cheers Frank

It’s good to know that there is an alternitive to Google and it’s a good solution to work with. The Insightr research show very the usage options for both tools.

I can definitely see the advantages of including news feeds and links to relevant videos and social bookmarking feeds, but I have to say the caffeine update has made life more difficult for SEOs.

I have a collegue that had the privilege to be at the session as well. He explained me in details what he heard.
